Sam Husser, Senior Pastor

Bro. Sam and Sue have been married since November of 1970, have 2 children, 9 grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. They have served together in ministry for 50 years. Several of those years were spent in full time evangelism, traveling and preaching extensively across America. Together and singly, this couple has made several trips internationally.

As an ordained minister, he has pastored five churches during those years, all of which grew numerically and spiritually. Bro. Sam's previous pastorates include Portland Baptist Church, Portland, Texas, Central Baptist Church, Slidell, Louisiana, Fairview Baptist Church, Laurel, Mississippi, Houston Road Baptist Church, Laurel, Mississippi, Hillcrest Baptist Church, Texarkana, Texas.

In January of 2007, Sam and Sue accepted the call and the challenge to become National Church Planters for the BMAA (Baptist Missionary Association of America). They were elected as BMAA Missionaries for the state of Louisiana, to plant a church in the Slidell/Pearl River area. After six months of training and deputation to help raise support, their vision to reach the lost, the unchurched and the displaced of this area soon became a reality. 

Since becoming a church in 2008, God has miraculously blessed the efforts of The Crossing in this endeavor.

After all these years, he is still passionate about seeing souls saved and discipled to prepare them for their place of ministry at The Crossing or wherever God leads them. Through his evangelistic style preaching on Sundays, many have come to know Christ. He often seizes the opportunity, himself, to train the members of the church through Bible teaching on Wednesday nights and other scheduled Bible Studies during the week.

William Lee, Youth Pastor

William Lee and his wife, Sara, currently serve as our Youth Ministry team. They have a passion for serving God and for spreading the gospel to those in need.  Their ministry to teenagers is a reflection of their love for the church and for building the kingdom of God.

Each Wednesday, they meet for Bible Study, along with 25-30 teens.  He teaches lessons relevant to the youth of today, lessons they can understand and make applicable to their lives, in school and at home.  It is common for the students to bring friends each week to share in what they are learning.
